Walking on the beach, calm and cool. A slight breeze taps my cheek and the waves gently push up against my legs. I feel a quick shake but take no notice to it and carry walking all the cool beach. Then the shake comes back but more ferocious and violent. I look at the empty swings and see them swaying in all directions. Tree tops bob up and down as if it was nodding ''yes''. I see a building crumble, people out from underneath the light rubble. Screams and shrieks of terror are shared all over the city. Cars stop in the middle of the roads people come running towards the beach and watch as their city which took years to build, fail in minutes by the angered earthquake. Tear drops fall as buildings stumble all over each other. The sea feels pain and becomes quiet, and still. The earthquake stops and we stand their sad, dis-hearten and worried . The city stood their battered and torn, people scream out names of their loved ones but not a single whisper replied from the city. Men run in broken bits of the destroyed building. Women broke hearted stand there in disbelief and hug someone for comfort. Bodies are piled up and the day is beginning to wind down With tired men and arching women they then call it a day that will never be forgotten . The 19th earthquake in Napier.
